Whats more, it exiles cards from graveyards and you may play one of them for free later
Like most Magic: The Gathering cards, the value of Brainstorm depends on a few consistent factors: its rarity, the printing and finish (regular or foil), its physical condition, and the set it was printed in (Strixhaven Mystical Archive)
Opponents will need to watch your counter placement closely as theyll impact their creatures and in the case of players generating or playing 1/1 creatures, you can actually defeat their armies before theyre allowed to grow
Im a fairly active player and buying a single just to collect it is kinda weird to me
There is also Springjack Pasture, which can repeatedly make a 5/3 for you for 5 mana, not bad if you're low on cards IMHO
The thing is, when your 1-mana creature can turn into a planeswalker thats relevant in the late-game, things change a little bit
