If you're playing CEDH and trying to win on turn three it's a massive problem because you need essentially every land to come into play untapped, but in more casual games the drawback is negligible especially compared to the upside of having powerful spells in your land slot
However, a deck that consistently presents protected wins on turns three or four belongs in a very different conversation from an upgraded precon that normally gets dangerous around turn eight
